Great success of people yesterday, on Friday 5th March, for the Inauguration of the Funicular Frachey-Alpe Ciarcerio which links Frachey (1.617 metres above sea level) to Alpe Ciarcerio (1.981 metres above sea level). The lift can carry up to 1.500 people per hour thanks to the two cabins for 110 people each; it takes about 2 minutes and 30 seconds to cover the length.

During the ceremony, a plate in memori of Carlo Brunod (1949 – 2001) has been unveiled; he contributed in giving birth to Monterosa Ski skiing area and he was the first person who believed that the Funicular lift could be the future of the Frachey-Ciarcerio distance.

An on-rail-dream which today becomes a reality in his memory.
